Cheese & Chive Scones.

Cheese & Chive Scones:

A recipe for industrious little mouselings to make.

What goes in this:
Self raising flour, 2 cups
Grated cheddar cheese, 2 cups
Milk, 1 cup
Finely chopped fresh chives (or dried chives, 1tablespoon)
Pepper 1/2teaspoon

Now do this:

  1. Sift flour and stir in chives and pepper.
  2. Add cheese & mix well
  3. Make a hole right in the middle of the mixture in the bowl & pour in the milk.
  4. When you have a nice dough, roll it (or knead it out on a floured surface).
  5. Cut the dough into scone sized pieces & put them on a greased baking tray.

Bake in hot oven for approx 10 minutes (we used 150 degrees C. in a fan forced oven)

Happy Christmouse & a Merry New Year.....

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring....not even a mouse.......... (really?)

Stockings were hung by the chimney with care..... & who do you think might be hiding in there?

Pesti where are you?

My Dearest Mouise,
Hope you received the flowers we sent you. We have missed you, greatly at the recent under bench scavenger hunts & after lights out wall-cavity-climbing. Even Cat is looking a tad under-whelmed of late.
Wishing, a speedy recovery from the dreadful dose of  sodium fluoroacetate you received. Mrs Sparrow is quite beside herself with grief, but we are all very please to hear it was not plague at all.

Lots of love,
Yersinia Pestis Rat.

---------------------------------
Darling Ratty,
Thank you for your kind thoughts and flowers, they were very tasty indeed. No doubt shall be back on all four paws soon.

With the greatest affection,
A. E Mouse.

Dearest Ratty.

Dearest Ratty,
Am afraid will be unable to attend this evenings, wall-cavity climbing expedition.
Rather poorly at present. Possibly plague, or the green (formerly Costello Blue) cheese consumed at Mrs. Sparrows, 'Under the Dining Table Soiree.'
With the greatest affliction,
A.E Mouse.

They seek her here, they seek her there...they seek The Mouse, everywhere!

Cat has recovered. Bit of a fright, wasn't expecting that.

Tonight: a wonderful night of frivolous flight and fun. Cat discovered me in the sitting room. Ran in under the settee -tiny hole, great place to hide, rattling about in the settee.

Cat running hither and fro, on, under and over - climbed the curtains. 'The Duchess' came bounding in looking VERY grumpy.

Cat has been extricated to the garden, whilst Rat and I are having a lovely time nibbling bits of confectionary from the cushions and watching Restoration Home.

Rat has plans to nibble the walls, after lights out tonight.

By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes.

Cat is back. Looking worse for wear. There is a huge shaved patch on his shoulder, with two weeping wounds. Very docile and not at all interested in me.

Enjoyed, packet of 2-minute noodles, then found a square box with UHT written on it, so had a bit of nibble to see what UHT was. Milk, it's long life milk! In my whiskers, paws and fur. Ugh !

Pretty sure if Cat were active, I'd be breakfast cereal; snap, crackle and Mouse........

When the Cat's away, the Mouse will play.......

The joy of it!

Cat is away, not sure where. She keeps calling, but no Cat. So now scampering around to my heart's content.

The kitchen is my realm; no hiding, ducking or diving. Never eaten so well.

Last night, found a huge chocolate easter bunny - forgotten since Easter. Nibbled my way in through the legs, ate my way almost to the very top. Congratulating myself, as from the outside, one can not see any disturbance, except my little nibble hole entrance. Oh, I'm such a clever Mousie.

Tonight, think I shall tackle a packet of two-minute noodles.
